You Can Learn to Make Da-math-cus with Mareko Maumasi This Weekend!

The 2023 Catskill Mountain Maker Camp is happening this week and, as always, they will be featuring exhibits and demonstrations from some of the hottest makers in the world. And, as a bonus for you bladesmithing folks, one of those makers is none other than bladesmith Mareko Maumasi!

Hosted in the Brodbeck Ironworks tent, Mareko will be treating visitors to some awesome S-grinding and handle sculpting demonstrations. Even bigger than that, Mareko will be showing you how he uses mathematics to combine different size bars to make unusual billets in what he’s affectionately coined as “Damathcus”.
Who is Mareko Maumasi?
Oh, you don’t know Mareko Maumasi? Well, you should! Mareko is only one of the biggest names in bladesmithing today. Mareko has made multiple appearances on the hit History series Forged in Fire which catapulted him to fan-favorite status. His awesome social media content coupled with his podcast Knife Talk has made Maumasi Fire Arts a household name within the bladesmithing community.

Of course, Mareko’s impact on the bladesmithing community goes well beyond his television and social media content.
